 7:10 pm in Holmdel\, New Jersey. Karl Guthe Jansky an engineer and researc
 her of Bell Telephone Laboratories\, born in Norman Oklahoma\, experimente
 d between 1928 and 1932\, and he discovered electromagnetic waves of inter
 stellar origin\, marking the birth of radio astronomy. Using a rotating an
 tenna and sensitive recording equipment of his own design\, Jansky identif
 ied signals fixed in space\, originating from the Milky Way. This groundbr
 eaking discovery revolutionized astronomy\, enabling the study of celestia
 l phenomena through radio waves. This is one of the most important discove
 ries of the twentieth century. While investigating atmospheric disturbance
 s affecting shortwave radio communications\, Jansky detected weak\, contin
 uous signals that exhibited a fixed spatial direction. Through meticulous 
 analysis\, he determined the source of these waves to be the Milky Way gal
 axy\, with coordinates of right ascension 18 hours and declination -20 deg
 rees. This discovery marked the inception of radio astronomy\, a field tha
 t has since transformed our understanding of the universe. Jansky’s work
  overcame significant technical challenges\, including the development of 
 a highly directive antenna system and precise signal intensity recording e
 quipment. His findings opened new avenues for exploring celestial phenomen
 a invisible to optical telescopes\, such as pulsars\, quasars\, and cosmic
  microwave background radiation. Jansky’s contributions laid the foundat
 ion for modern astrophysics and inspired the construction of advanced radi
