DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Student Branch of Jamhuriya University of Science and
Technology organized a technical seminar titled “Understanding Somalia
’s Internet Connectivity: Submarine Cables\, ISPs\, and Networks.” The
session was delivered by Eng. Abdikarim Abdullahi\, Network Engineer at D
alkom Somalia.\n\nThe seminar provided participants with an overview of So
malia’s Internet connectivity infrastructure\, focusing on the role of s
ubmarine fiber-optic cables\, Internet Service Providers (ISPs)\, network
infrastructure\, and the delivery of Internet services to end users. The d
iscussion helped participants understand how international Internet connec
tivity reaches Somalia through submarine cables and how this connectivity
is distributed through national telecommunications networks.\n\nThe speake
r also provided practical industry perspectives on networking and telecomm
unications\, helping students connect theoretical concepts from their acad
emic studies with real-world network infrastructure and operations in Soma
lia.\n\nCo-sponsored by: Jamhuriya University of Science and Technology\n\
