DESCRIPTION:On August 28\, 2026\, Universidad Galileo in Guatemala City hos
ted the historic Arduino Day 2026\, an event that marked an ambitious in-p
erson comeback after a decade of community history.\n\nThe event was organ
ized and led by the Arduino Guatemala Community\, with invaluable sponsors
hip support.\n\nThe main purpose was to foster a culture of open-source ha
rdware and democratize access to cutting-edge technologies\, creating lear
ning paths for all levels — from lighting an LED to deploying Artificial
Intelligence on microcontrollers. For IEEE Young Professionals members\,
this space represented a vital platform for networking\, staying current o
n global trends (such as Edge AI\, supercomputing\, IoT\, and LLMs applied
to hardware)\, and strengthening practical skills essential for the futur
e of engineering in the region.\n\nThe event's success exceeded expectatio
ns. We had the honor of an in-person opening talk by David Cuartielles\, c
o-founder of Arduino. The program included three simultaneous tracks and m
ore than 10 talks delivered by experts from Guatemala\, Mexico\, Latin Ame
rica\, and Europe\, covering everything from open-tool chip design to adva
nced robotics.\n\nThe response from the Guatemalan community was overwhelm
ing\, filling the limited available spots and bringing together an interge
nerational audience passionate about technology. Arduino Day 2026 demonstr
ated that world-class technology is being forged in Guatemala and reaffirm
ed IEEE's commitment to supporting initiatives that inspire the next leade
rs of the tech industry.\n\nGuatemala City\, Guatemala\, Guatemala
