DESCRIPTION:Hard Work Alone Won’t Get You Noticed - Creating Value Will!
Most engineering graduates have strong technical skills—but many struggl
e to advance. Why? Because effort alone isn’t enough. Organizations rewa
rd engineers who create visible\, measurable value. In 75 minutes\, learn
how to turn your skills into impact that gets noticed\, trusted\, and rewa
rded. Discover practical career strategies that jump start your career fro
m day one.\n\nThe workshops are open to everyone (in-person only for the T
ufts community.)\n\nA light lunch will be provided when the workshop begin
s.\n\nDr. Ron Lasser brings over thirty years of industrial experience and
practical engineering knowledge to the classroom\, student projects\, res
earch\, and corporate ecosystems. His approach is to inspire and apply cri
tical thinking to real-life problems\, then look toward innovation and tec
hnology to provide a solution.\n\nHis creativity\, high energy level and p
assion have yielded an impressive track record. Ron has worked with U.S. a
nd international companies on product realization\, innovation and technol
ogy\, product definition\, product portfolio management\, and trouble-shoo
ting. Ron has improved time-to-profit for small entrepreneurial companies
to billion dollar international corporations to achieve bottom line result

g Unix and MS DOS-based systems and networks for AT&T Bell Laboratories. H
e worked at DuPont in their Electronic Prepress business developing scanne

r of engineering at General Scanning responsible for medical imaging and p
rinting technologies and helped take the company public.\n\nRon is a Profe
ssor of the Practice at Tufts University in the Electrical and Computer En
gineering Department. He has taught courses in Engineering Entrepreneurshi
p\, Linear Systems Theory\, Senior Design Project\, Junior Design\, Electr
ical Systems\, and Societal Aspects of Design. Ron is a technology and man
agement advisor for international companies in the area of strategic techn

tinguished Teaching and Advising in 2023 and the SOE Faculty Graduate Teac
hing and Mentoring Award\, 2022. He has received the Henry and Madeline Fi
scher Award for Teaching Excellence seven times in 2017 through 2022\, and
2009. Members of each graduating class since 2003 have presented him with
the Student Impact Award for being an individual who most influence their
learning and intellectual development. He has developed two courses in de
sign as part of the Tufts Innovates! grant program. He is a mentor at EFor
All in Lowell\, accelerating economic and social impact through entreprene
urship in mid-sized cities.\n\nRon has a Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon Univer
sity and holds Master of Science and Bachelor of Science degrees in mechan
ical engineering\, also from Carnegie-Mellon University. He has completed
the executive education Strategic Marketing Management program at the Harv
