 ment of Energy to design a first-of-its-kind Blanket Component Test Facili
 ty (BCTF)\, focused on testing full-scale fusion power-plant reactor blank
 ets. To evaluate integrated\, full-scale fusion &quot;blanket&quot; systems—the li
 thium-based material layers that line the inside of a fusion vessel. These
  components capture energy\, transfer heat out of the plasma core\, and br
 eed the tritium fuel required to sustain fusion reactions.\n\nWe encourage
