DESCRIPTION:CEDRE is France’s national centre of expertise for accidental
pollution affecting marine and freshwater environments. Created in 1978 i
n the aftermath of the Amoco Cadiz oil spill\, CEDRE has been supporting a
uthorities and industry in preparing for\, responding to\, and managing po
llution incidents. It runs multidisciplinary teams\, combining scientific
research\, operational expertise\, and emergency response to cover a wide
range of pollutants and environmental challenges\, including oil\, chemica
ls\, and aquatic litter. This presentation provides an overview of CEDRE
’s expertise and research activities\, with a particular focus on oil sp
ill response\, HNS behavior and dispersion\, slick tracking using drifting
buoys\, gas cloud monitoring\, and model validation.\n\nCo-sponsored by:
