DESCRIPTION:NAVYANTRA – BUILD BEYOND BOUNDARIES\n24-Hour National-Level H
ardware Hackathon\n\nNAVYANTRA – Build Beyond Boundaries was a 24-hour n
ational-level hardware hackathon organized by the Department of Electronic
s and Communication Engineering and the IEEE KSSEM Student Branch at K. S.
School of Engineering & Management (KSSEM)\, Bengaluru\, on 8–9 October
2026\, in association with the IEEE CEDA Bangalore Chapter\, Inversa Tech
nosoft\, and Tenet Technetronics.\n\nThe event brought together 66 registe
red teams comprising 253 participants from engineering institutions across
Karnataka and other states\, including Tamil Nadu\, Kerala\, Andhra Prade
sh\, and Maharashtra. With a prize pool of ₹50\,000 and internship oppor
tunities for winning teams\, NAVYANTRA provided a platform for students to
transform innovative ideas into functional hardware prototypes while enha
ncing their technical\, collaborative\, and problem-solving skills.\n\nIna
uguration and Commencement\nRegistration took place from 7:30 AM to 9:00 A
M on 8 October 2026\, followed by a team leader briefing from 9:00 AM to 9
:20 AM. Participants were briefed on the hackathon guidelines\, project re
quirements\, evaluation criteria\, event format\, and essential instructio
ns.\n\nThe hackathon commenced at 9:30 AM\, with teams assigned designated
laboratories and workspaces across the campus to facilitate hardware deve
lopment\, experimentation\, and collaboration.\n\nTechnical Domains and Pr
ototype Development\nNAVYANTRA featured four technical domains: Smart Heal
thcare & Personal Safety\, Smart Infrastructure & Industrial Automation\,
Smart Mobility & Robotics\, and Smart Agriculture & Environment. These dom
ains encouraged participants to develop practical solutions addressing cha
llenges in healthcare\, agriculture\, sustainability\, robotics\, mobility
\, infrastructure\, and industrial applications.\n\nThroughout the 24-hour
challenge\, teams worked on problem identification\, hardware design\, el
ectronic component and sensor integration\, embedded system development\,
testing\, troubleshooting\, and prototype refinement. Participants demonst
rated creativity\, dedication\, and teamwork while transforming their idea
s into functional solutions within the stipulated timeframe.\n\nMentorship
and Technical Guidance\nMentorship was an integral part of NAVYANTRA. On
8 October 2026\, mentors visited teams at their workspaces\, reviewed proj
ect progress\, discussed technical approaches\, and provided constructive
feedback. These interactions helped participants clarify doubts\, overcome
implementation challenges\, evaluate feasibility\, and improve their prot
otypes. The mentors' expertise and guidance strengthened the teams' techni
cal understanding and prepared them for the final evaluation.\n\nOvernight
Development and Participant Engagement\nThe hackathon continued throughou
t the night\, providing an immersive environment for continuous developmen
t\, experimentation\, and collaboration. Teams worked diligently to comple
te their prototypes\, resolve hardware integration issues\, and prepare de
monstrations.\n\nFun and entertainment activities were organized around mi
dnight to refresh participants and maintain enthusiasm during the intensiv
e development period. Student volunteers and organizers provided logistica
l support\, including food\, snacks\, refreshments\, and other essential a
rrangements. Their efforts helped maintain a supportive environment and co
ntributed to the smooth conduct of the event.\n\nProject Demonstrations an
d Evaluation\nOn 9 October 2026\, a demonstration preparation reminder was
given at 6:00 AM\, and evaluation commenced at 7:30 AM\, continuing until
10:30 AM. Teams finalized their prototypes and presented their solutions
to the evaluation panel.\n\nEach team demonstrated its hardware model\, ex
plained the problem addressed\, described the technical implementation\, a
nd highlighted its practical relevance. Judges assessed projects based on
innovation\, problem relevance\, technical implementation\, prototype func
tionality\, feasibility\, and potential real-world applications.\n\nThe ev
aluation recognized the participants' technical knowledge\, creativity\, a
nd ability to develop practical engineering solutions under time constrain
ts.\n\nValedictory Ceremony\, Recognition\, and Awards\nThe valedictory ce
remony began at 11:00 AM on 9 October 2026\, marking the conclusion of NAV
YANTRA. Attendees included the Executive Director of K. S. Group of Instit
utions\, the Principal of KSSEM\, the Head of the Department of Electronic
s and Communication Engineering\, representatives of the sponsoring organi
zations\, and special invitee Mr. Sajal Mittal\, Chair of the IEEE CEDA Ba
ngalore Chapter.\n\nThe ceremony celebrated the successful completion of t
he hackathon and recognized the innovation and technical efforts of the pa
rticipants. Mentors and sponsor representatives were felicitated in apprec
iation of their valuable contributions and support.\n\nThe winning teams w
ere announced based on the evaluation results and recognized for their inn
ovation\, technical implementation\, and teamwork. They received awards fr
om the ₹50\,000 prize pool\, along with internship opportunities to supp
ort further practical learning and professional development.\n\nIEEE Day 2
026 and Collective Contributions\nNAVYANTRA was also part of the IEEE Day
2026 initiatives of the IEEE KSSEM Student Branch\, reflecting IEEE's comm
itment to technological innovation\, collaboration\, and student engagemen
t. Thanushree N and Sakshi M\, IEEE Day Ambassadors 2026\, served on the o
rganizing committee and contributed to the successful conduct of the hacka
thon.\n\nThe event's success was made possible through the collective effo
rts of the organizing committee\, student coordinators\, faculty members\,
 volunteers\, mentors\, judges\, sponsors\, and institutional leadership.
Their dedication and coordination created a valuable platform for students
to explore innovative ideas\, demonstrate technical capabilities\, and de
velop solutions to real-world challenges.\n\nNAVYANTRA stands as a testame
nt to teamwork\, collaboration\, and student-led innovation\, advancing IE
EE's objectives and strengthening the technical community at KSSEM.\n\nAge
