DESCRIPTION:Dear Colleagues and Friends\,\n\nYou are warmly invited to join
us for an IEEE Day celebration in the Twin Cities—an opportunity to con
nect\, learn more about IEEE\, other Engineering Societies\, and explore h
ow we can build a stronger local engineering and technology community toge
ther.\n\nThe celebration will take place on Oct 6\, 2026\, at Punch Bowl S
ocial (southwest corner of I394 and Hwy100)\, and will bring together IEEE
members and other Engineering societies' members interested in vitalizing
the Engineering community in the Twin Cities.\n\nThe event will include:\
n\n- Social networking and informal discussion——with free food and dri
nks provided— because building a strong community starts with getting to
know one another and sharing food!\n- Meet-and-connect opportunities with
members and representatives from different engineering groups in the Twin
Cities.\n\nSome topics we can chat about are:\n\n- Community needs brains
torming: What are the most important challenges\, unmet needs\, and unwant
ed technology intrusions\, in the Twin Cities that engineers\, technologis
ts\, researchers\, students\, and community partners could help address?\n
- Stakeholder mapping and collaboration: Identifying organizations\, nonpr
ofits\, academic groups\, industry partners\, government agencies\, educat
ors\, and community organizations that may be interested in working togeth
er.\n- Brainstorming for the formation of an IEEE SIGHT (Special Interest
Group on Humanitarian Technology) group in the Twin Cities\, including ide
as for projects and collaborations that can leverage engineering and techn
ology to address local and global challenges.\n\nThis gathering is intende
d to be an open and collaborative space. You do not need to be an IEEE mem
ber to attend. Whether you are already active in an Engineering Society\,
curious about getting involved\, interested in humanitarian technology and
ethical management of technology\, or simply looking for ways to contribu
te to the Twin Cities community through engineering and societal developme
nt\, we would love to have you join us.\n\nTogether\, we hope to identify
opportunities where Engineering Societies can serve as connectors—bringi
ng people\, ideas\, expertise\, technology\, and critique\, together to cr
eate meaningful impact in our community.\n\nWe look forward to celebrating
IEEE Day with you and\, more importantly\, beginning a conversation about
what we can build together in the Twin Cities.\n\nPlease join us for an e
vening of connection\, fun\, food\, ideas\, and collaboration!\n\n---\n\nN
on-IEEE Friends\, please use the "Register as Guest" option on the event p
age to register. See image below:\n\nNOTE: You will have to first click on

cy\, before the "Register as Guest" button will work correctly. Just check
ing the box and clicking on the Register button may result in an error pag
e. (Corporate stuff.)\n\nNote: IEEE has an engineering community network c
alled Collabratec that you can join. You do NOT have to be an IEEE member
to join this network\; you can create a free account on it. This network h
olds several sub-communities. One of those relates to Ethics in Engineerin
g. You can join the Ethics in Engineering group at the link below:\n\nhttp
