DESCRIPTION:The Faculty of Arts and Culture\, South Eastern University of S
ri Lanka (SEUSL)\, has organized a technical workshop titled “Applicatio
n of Advanced Geospatial Technologies in Disaster Risk Reduction” as par
t of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (GRSS) Young Professio
nals (YP) Ambassador Program 2026. The workshop will be led by Dr. Samith
 a Daranagama\, Senior Lecturer\, University of Sri Jayewardenepura.\n\nThi
s technical seminar will explore the application of advanced geospatial te
chnologies\, particularly Remote Sensing and GeoAI\, in disaster risk redu
ction. The programme will introduce participants to the use of Earth obser
vation data\, geospatial analysis\, and artificial intelligence for hazard
assessment\, mapping\, and disaster risk management. The event will also
provide practical insights into modern geospatial workflows and their pote
ntial applications in addressing regional disaster-related challenges.\n\n
