eed to hand down wisdom and information from one generation to the next. T
his is especially important in Electromagnetic Compatibility. Mentors answ
er questions that book learning may not divulge. Questions such as where t
o put a capacitor\, when to use a ferrite\, how to ground\, are all questi
ons that experience can help answer. In his presentation Dr. Scott Faust w
ill encourage the EMC community to develop those mentoring relationships.\
n\nBio:\nDr. Faust leads the Vehicle Electronics and Architecture EMC Labo
ratory\, performing MIL-STD-461 testing of electrical and\nelectronic subs
ystems used in Military ground vehicles\, and supporting design/developmen
t efforts for EMC. He supports the\nU.S. Army Ground Vehicle System Center
(GVSC) and the wider TACOM community in EMI/EMC and E3-related requiremen
ts\ndevelopment\, technical reviews\, failure analysis\, and mitigation of
EMI/EMC issues. As the Chair of the TACOM E3 Requirements\nBoard\, Dr. Fa
ust represents GVSC and TACOM to the wider DoW E3 community and supports t
he education of the Detroit Arsenal\nworkforce in E3-related subjects. Dr.
Faust mentors engineers in the GVSC workforce in EMI/E3-related subjects\
, and teaches\ngraduate-level courses in Antennas\, Electromagnetic Compat
ibility\, and Electromagnetic Engineering.\n\nPrior to joining GVSC\, Dr.
Faust held a variety of test\, design\, and engineering/technical leadersh
ip positions with various Tier I automotive suppliers. He has performed EM
C testing on a variety of electronic modules\, from motorcycle engine cont
rollers to safety electronics\nincluding airbags and ABS/vehicle stability
control systems. Dr. Faust is a Certified EMC Engineer through the Intern
ational Association for Radio\,\nTelecommunications\, and Electromagnetics
. He is a past recipient of the DoD Army E3 Award (2020) and the Army Civi
lian Service Commendation Medal. In addition to his work at GVSC\, Dr. Fau
st is a Part-Time Lecturer at Oakland University\, and an Adjunct Professo
r at University of Detroit Mercy. He received his BSEE from Rose-Hulman In
