DESCRIPTION:You are warmly welcome to attend the IEEE workshop “Frontiers
in Converter-Dominated Power Systems: Stability\, Digital Twins and Grid-
Forming Control\,” organized by the IEEE PES/PELS Sweden Chapter on 19 O
ctober 2026\, from 15:00 to 17:00 at KTH and Zoom.\n\nThe workshop brings
together three distinguished researchers to discuss emerging methods and c
hallenges in converter-dominated power systems.\n\nProf. Marta Molinas\, I
EEE Fellow and Professor at the Norwegian University of Science and Techno
logy (NTNU)\, Norway\, will present “Rethinking Impedance-Based Stabilit
y Analysis of Power Electronics Systems Through Electrical Symmetry.” Th
e talk introduces electrical symmetry as a complementary perspective for i
nterpreting converter–grid interactions and assessing stability robustne
ss.\n\nProf. Fei Gao\, IEEE Fellow and Professor at the University of Tech
nology of Belfort-Montbéliard (UTBM)\, France\, and Editor-in-Chief of IE
EE Transactions on Transportation Electrification\, will present “Digita
l Twins for Modern Power Electronics.” The talk will cover high-fidelity
real-time modelling\, enabling technologies\, and applications of digital
twins in modern power electronic and energy systems.\n\nProf. Xiao-Ping Z
hang\, IEEE Fellow and Professor of Electrical Power Systems at the Univer
sity of Birmingham\, UK\, will deliver the IEEE PES Distinguished Lecture
“Phase Jump of Grid Forming Control: Is It Too Big or Too Small?” The
talk will address the transient stability of grid-forming converters under
phase jumps and discuss implications for existing grid-code requirements.
\n\nThe workshop is intended for researchers\, engineers\, students\, and
industry professionals interested in power electronics\, converter-dominat
ed grids\, stability\, digital twins\, and grid-forming technologies. The
event will conclude with a joint discussion and Q&A.\n\nThe detailed agend
