DESCRIPTION:Abstract— The design of technologies and architectures of fut
ure integrated circuits will be driven\nby drastic power consumption reduc
tion. They will request less energy greedy devices and\ninterconnect syste
ms. The electronic market will continue its growth thanks to the availabil
ity and\nfeasibility of autonomous and mobile systems appealing to societa
l needs. The increasing complexity\nof high volume fabricated systems will
be possible if we aim at zero intrinsic variability\, and generalize\n3-d
imensional integration of hybrid\, heterogeneous technologies at the devic
e\, functional and system\nlevels. Weighing on the world energy saving bal
ance will be possible and realistic by maximizing the\nenergy efficiency o
f co-integrated Low Power and High Performance Logic\, Memory devices and\
nNanosystems to serve data computing and storage\, functional diversificat
ion and communication.\nThanks to the new technological opportunities\, al
ternative neuromorphic and quantum based\ncomputing\, are showing up. Incr
eased and complex interactivity will be available at the\nhuman/machine in
terfaces(hardware and software). The future of Nanoelectronics will face t
he major\nconcerns of being Energy and Variability Efficient(E.V.E.). In t
he era of A.I.\, sustainability will drive\nresearch and development for t
