DESCRIPTION:The IEEE Ottawa AP/MTT Joint Chapter\, and the IEEE Ottawa EMC
Chapter presents a talk by Matthew Burns\, Director\, Technical Marketing
at Samtec\, as part of the Ottawa Signal Integrity and Datacenters Series.
\n\nTuesday\, November 3\, 2026\, 12:00–1:00 PM Eastern Time. In person
at HUB350\, Kanata. Pizza and snacks.\n\nAbstract\n\nData Center and AI Sc
ale-up\, Scale-out\, and Scale-across infrastructures demand both reduced
power consumption\, cost\, and latency and increased bandwidth density\, c
apacity\, reliability and scalability. Interchangeability between copper a
nd optical interconnects simplifies system architectures and offers flexib
ility in scale-up/scale-out/scale-across implementations. Field replaceabl
e CPO solutions are a must for data center and AI scale-up/scale-out/scale
-across as well.\n\nIn this technical presentation\, Matthew Burns will de
tail the Si-Fly® HD 224 Gbps PAM4 CPX Systems supporting electrically plu
ggable CPC/CPO solutions. An introduction and overview of the newly releas
ed Open CPX MSA 1.0 Specification will be included. In addition\, Matthew
will review the benefits of an interoperable ecosystem of optical engines
enabling various data center and AI scale-up/scale-out/scale-across use ca
ses. Potential 400G channel rate system architecture will also be explored
