  very significant increase in spectral efficiency\, and also in link relia
 bility. It will demonstrate how the capacity of a MIMO channel can be calc
 ulated\, and discuss the concepts of multiplexing gain and diversity gain.
  It will then consider the modelling of the MIMO channel in realistic scen
 arios\, especially showing how correlation arises between the antennas\, a
 nd the effect this may have on the capacity of practical MIMO systems.\n\n
