DESCRIPTION:A brain-computer interface (BCI) is a communication system that
  translates brain activity into commands for a computer or other devices. 
 In other words\, a BCI allows users to act on their environment by using o
 nly brain activity\, without using peripheral nerves and muscles. The majo
 r goal of BCI research has been to develop systems that allow disabled use
 rs to communicate with other persons\, to control artificial limbs\, or to
  control their environment. Several other alternative application areas fo
 r brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) lie in the field of multimedia communic
 ation\, such as emotion tagging\, implicit tagging\, curiosity cloning\, e
 tc. This talk gives an overview of BCI research areas\, mentioned above\, 
 presents concrete examples of BCI systems\, and highlights recent developm
 ents\, open problems\, and future trends in this exciting field.\n\nSpeake
