DESCRIPTION:Radio frequency identification (RFID) technology employs short
range wireless communications to read certain digital information stored i
n tag attached to an object being tracked. An RFID system consist of one m
ore tags with IC and MIC chip\, and a read/ write) device an R/W antenna a
s its main component. Tags come in many sizes and shapes. But they are usu
ally small and light weight\, and typically used for wireless data communi
cation with R/W devices at distances ranging from a few millimetre to seve
ral meter. This workshop covers all the technical aspects of UHF band RFID
antenna design and application. Is will begin with a detailed introductio
n of the basic principal of wireless communications as incorporated in rea
l life RFID system. Next the performance requirement of various R/W antenn
a for RFID system would be presented. RFID represent the fastest growing s
ector of the integrated circuit industry. Mostly antenna based on MIC and
MMIC materials\, Novelty in the design and fabrication of MIC components i
s thus vital for the fast growing wireless communication based electronic
devices for consumer and business applications.MIC components include comp
lete RF transceivers as well as smaller building blocks such as low noise
 amplifier(LNA)\, HPA\, local oscillators (LOs)\, frequency synthesizers \,
power amplifiers. Some of the topic covered are listed below • Get
working knowledge of antenna design techniques • Simulation and desi
gn of custom-made RFID tag antenna and their implantation • Design a
nd system integration of printed-on glass RHCP R/W gate patch antenna â
€¢ Environmental effect on the performance of high gain RHCP R/W patch
antenna located outdoors. • Learn to design antenna for various appl
