DESCRIPTION:The recent trends in industry suggest that renewable energy res
ources in particular wind\, are growing at great pace. The plan is to achi
eve wind power equal to 20% of total installed capacity by 2030. It is a c
hallenge to transmit the wind power to load centers which are miles away f
rom the wind generation. Also the existing limited transmission access in
wind-rich states makes the situation even worse. Further\, it is equally i
mportant to understand the wind power characteristics in order to facilita
te smooth integration and operation of the system. This presentation brief
ly covers the issues and challenges associated with integration of wind to
the transmission grid. Also\, the modeling of wind farms for load flow an
d dynamic studies is briefly covered.\n\nRoom: L5\, Bldg: Lecture Hall Com
