The conference was a sequel of SCES 2012 organized successful ly from March 16-18\, 2012. The conference was technically sponsored by IE EE Uttar Pradesh Section and co-sponsored by IEEE Joint Societies Chapter of (IE/PEL/CS). The aim of the conference was to motivate the student scho lars who are working in the area of Engineering and Systems. The conferenc e was arranged to provide a platform for research students to present thei r original work done at a highly technical platform. The theme of the conf erence was “Inspiring Engineering and Systems for Sustainable Develo pment”. A total of 310 papers have been received from different coun tries under the technical tracks\, Electrical and Power\, Electronics and Communication\, Computing Technology and Intelligent Systems\, Mechanical Systems and Mechatronics\, and Applied Sciences. After review and acceptan ce\, total 101 papers were registered in the ORAL session and 38 papers in the DIALOUGE session of the conference. Total 128 papers were presented i n the 22-technical sessions of the conference. The conference has acquired LOA from IEEE\, USA\, with the IEEE Conference Record # 30980 and has als o been listed in the IEEE conference search. The 3-day conference was inau gurated by Prof. N. Kumaravel\, Head\, ECE Dept.\, Anna University Chennai ”. Prof. P. Chakrabarti\, Director MNNIT Allahabad delivered the ple nary talk of the conference on the theme “Journey of Electronics fro m Vacume Tubes to Carbon Nanotubes”. He addressed the conference par ticipants for their distinctive quest to keep up to date with the cutting edge technology. Mr. Paulson Samuel\, Conference Chair\, delivered the wel come address and Prof. Vineeta Agrawal\, Chairman Technical Committee\, pr esented the technical report of the conference. Dr. Rajesh Gupta\, Organiz ing Chairman\, given the brief schedule of the conference and presented th e vote-of-thanks. Prof. N. Singh\, Head EED\, MNNIT Allahabad\ , delivered second keynote speech of the conference on the topic\, “ Electric Vehicle”. Prof. S. N. Singh\, IIT Kanpur\, delivered the fi rst keynote speech of the second day on the core theme of the conference e ntitled “Intelligent System Applications in Solving Engineering Prob lems”. He presented the recent trends of intelligent methods in Engi neering and Systems. Prof. Y. N. Singh\, IIT Kanpur\, delivered keynote sp eech on the topic “Peer to Peer Live Streaming Systems Issues” . His talk was made live through the live streaming approach. Section memb ers attended the talk on-line from their institute itself. Prof. S. Jit\, IIT BHU Varanasi\, delivered keynote talk of the third day on the topic\, “Non- Classical CMOS Technology: An Overview”. Prof. R. Tripat hi\, Head ECED\, MNNIT Allahabad delivered last keynote talk of the confer ence on the topic “Advancements in Networks”\, A tutorial was presented in the Conference by Mr. Ankur Jain\, M/S. National Instruments\ , on the topic\, “Do Engineering using LabVIEW”. Total 6 paper s were honored with the Best Paper Award.
