The section senior member elevation event will take the place of the selecting and contacting references steps so that everything can be accomplished in one meeting. The process is similar to, but less stressful than, a job application where the section event will enable you to be interviewed by a panel of senior-level and above members who will be your references. Please fill out your application, except for the references, online prior to the event and bring four copies of your resume to the event. At your interview, you will exchange member numbers with the interviewers. After the interview, you will then log back in and add their member numbers to your application. At that point, the interviewers will be notified to add their evaluations to your application online. Finally, your completed application will be decided upon by one of IEEE's advancement panels that meet periodically around the world.

Senior membership gives you recognition within the profession and at your employer. It does not increase your membership dues, however, it does increase the portion of your dues that is rebated to your section to fund local activities. More important, senior members tend to be more active in their section and to remain members longer.

We will schedule you for a 15 minute interview with a panel of three senior or above grade members who will be your references.

We realize that it is not practical for our more distant members, including the Black Hills Subsection and northern Wyoming, to attend in person so we are offering them the opportunity to attend by teleconference, preferably by Skype, but alternatively by telephone.
