‘Hack your Thoughts: Key Aspects of Brain-Computer Interfacing’ is a workshop organized by the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBS) Student Branch Chapter of the University of Moratuwa with the collaboration of the Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon 2018), the 4th International Multidisciplinary Engineering Research Conference organized by the Engineering Research Unit (ERU) of the University of Moratuwa. This workshop is organized with the intention of popularizing the Brain-Computer Interfacing technology within the community.

The workshop program includes lectures from Prof. Kazuo Kiguchi, Kyushu University Japan; Dr. Anjula De Silva, University of Moratuwa; Dr. Thilina Lalitharatne, University of Moratuwa and Dr. Roshan Pieris, Keio University, Japan. This workshop will provide insight into key areas such as Brain-Computer Interface and Brain-Machine Interface, Neurological Linguistic Biological Aspect of BCI, Virtual Reality, and BCI/BMI, and applications of BCI/BMI.

This workshop provides a platform for researchers, academics, industrialists, graduate and undergraduate students to discuss the problems related to BCI and innovative solutions to solve those problems. Additionally, the workshop intends to broaden the view of attendees by discussing the neurological process behind thought generation, the hardware required for EEG recordings, digital signal conditioning thought classification and how they can be used in applications such as assistive technology and VR.
