Open Source DataTurbine(OSDT) SensorPod and OSS management
The first half of the talk will focus on OS HW and SW solution to create smart, flexible data logger to control various sensor devices and network modalities at a highly competitive price point. The second half will focus on managing such OSS products from both legal and security perspectives.
Biography:
Peter is the Founder and CEO of Canvass Labs. He has spent 17 years working at the San Diego Supercomputer Center and at Qualcomm conducting research in applying artificial intelligence and big data technologies. While at UCSD, he developed and deployed smart sensor data loggers with remote telemetry functionalities. He and his colleagues deployed them in Australia, Thailand and French Polynesia. His experience in the Open Source Software (OSS) space at the University of California, San Diego led him to the Office of the Chief Scientist at Qualcomm, where he became a thought leader in OSS compliance and management. Peter also was a founding member of a SDSC Knowledge and Information Discovery Lab (SKIDL) at the San Diego Supercomputer Center at UCSD. Peter lives in La Jolla, CA with his wife and son and has been a member of the greater San Diego community for over 20 years.
