Talk abstract:
Jeremy Wang is the CTO and R&D Founder of The Sky Guys, a leading Canadian drone service provider and manufacturer serving heavy industry and government. In this talk, Jeremy will offer a broad overview of the current market landscape, state of commercial drone technology, major challenges, and predictions for the future. The Sky Guys is headquartered in Oakville, Ontario, with offices in Vancouver BC, Washington DC, and Houston TX, and was recognized in 2018 among the world’s top 20 drone operators and first in Canada for inspections, mapping, and surveying. This talk is ideal for students, engineering and business professionals, and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in the UAV sector.
Biography:
Jeremy has held various technical, business, and leadership roles as part of more than 15 drone, rocket, and satellite R&D projects since 2012, securing $45M in funding and winning over 40 Canadian and global awards for technical, business, social impact, and leadership excellence. He previously worked at the German Aerospace Center, Space Generation Advisory Council, University of Toronto Institute for Leadership Education in Engineering, and continues to advise for-profit, government, and STEM organizations. Jeremy holds a BASc EngSci from the University of Toronto, was selected as one of Canada’s ‘The Next 36’ in 2016, and was inducted as a laureate of AIAA’s “Tomorrow’s Aerospace Engineering Leaders” in 2018.
