Biography:

Dr. Egil Juliussen is Director of Research & Principal Analyst, Automotive Technology at IHS Markit.

He leads research on technology forecasting, competitive analysis and market forecasting. In the last decade, he has focused on connected car technology, auto infotainment and mobile devices used in the car, driver assist and autonomous driving technologies. He has more than 30 years of experience in the computer, communications, internet and telematics industries. Previously, Dr. Juliussen was with Texas Instruments Inc., where he was a strategic and product planner for microprocessors, minicomputers and PCs. Dr. Juliussen formerly was president and editor of Computer Industry Almanac, which published eight Computer and Internet Industry Almanac reference books. He has prepared over 500 papers, reports and conference presentations, and he has written columns and papers for computer publications throughout his career. He makes presentations, seminars and lectures in the North America, Asia and Europe. Dr. Juliussen is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and graduated from Purdue University in Indiana, US, with a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
