Organized and hosted by NextCorps

Co-sponsored by Rochester IEEE Young Professionals

Research continues to show that not only is emotional intelligence (EI/EQ) a greater predictor of success than intellectual intelligence (IQ), it also leads to a happier, healthier life. While emotions can contribute to challenges, with EI skills, they become resources to empower change, fuel collaboration, and spark innovation.

This lunch and learn will combine an interactive presentation with small group activities to give participants an understanding of EI and how it can aid the entrepreneurial journey. All participants will also have the option to receive their personalized Unlocking EQ Report (UEQ).

Participants will learn how to use EI to:

  • Establish a leadership style when assembling a team

  • Pitch investors and receive feedback constructively

  • Negotiate with a potential partner (e.g. a manufacturer, consultant, etc.)

  • Avoid jumping to conclusions in stressful situations by using "the ladder of inference"

Tickets are normally $15, but IEEE members can save $5 with discount code nextcorpsIEEE.
