A Nebraskan's Experiences at Kennedy Space Center During the Apollo Space Program
Jim Murphy will give a presentation that will focus on the overall testing of the Apollo Guidance and Navigation System from the time the Command Module arrived at Kennedy Space Center until it lifted off the launch pad. It will not go into detail about the system but will give a brief overview of its subsystems during the discussion. Jim will share some personal anecdotes about his experiences during the testing. This presentation will be more of behind the scenes than what is shown on the TV presentations of Apollo. Some personal memorabilia will be available for those interested in looking at it afterwards.
