IEEE San Diego Section Senior Member Round Up Networking Event
Interested in becoming an IEEE senior member? Already a senior member and willing to use your powers to support other members? Come to the San Diego Senior Member Round Up.
If you aren't a senior member and are well qualified, we want to help elevate you. If you are a senior member or higher, please help us get your local colleagues elevated at this event.
Benefits of Senior membership includes:
recognition, leadership eligibility, ability to refer other candidates: senior members can serve as a reference for other applicants for senior membership, letter of commendation sent to your employer; plus complimentary society voucher to join one new IEEE Society. Elevated senior member will receive a plaque signed by the IEEE Board Secretary, Kathleen Kramer.
To be eligible for application or nomination, candidates must:
Be engineers, scientists, educators, technical executives, or originators in IEEE-designated fields
Have experience reflecting professional maturity
Have been in professional practice for at least ten years (with some credit for certain degrees: Ph.D., 5 years, Master degrees, 4 years; BS in an IEEE-designated field, 3 years)
Show significant performance over a period of at least five of their years in professional practice.
Applications reviewed monthly, last review panel of the year is November 23, 2019.
At least 3 references are needed from senior members (or higher). More information on how to apply can be found at https://www.ieee.org/membership/senior/.
This event is to help our San Diego members to become/apply a senior member (such as finding references) and answer any questions you may have.
If you are a member and like to become a senior member, please bring 5 printed copies of your resume and your IEEEE number.
Senior members will be on site and can be your references if needed.
If you are a senior member (or higher), and like to serve as reference for other members, please come to the meeting (bring your IEEE number).
We encourage senior members to be there to help if you can.
This event also includes Social Evening-Networking/Job Opportunities (with food).
