This presentation will follow the development of an advanced motor control device - it's inception, electrical safety considerations in it's design, challenges in the NRTL listing process, and how it was all done by one man on a budget. Attendees will walk away with actionable insights and lessons learned for how to design for manufacturability, how to navigate the NRTL landscape from price shopping to quality control, how to design and fabricate low budget test apparatus, and how thermal considerations tie into electrical design.
