So few health analytics exercises disrupt practice
A great deal of IT research, particularly in health analytics has not translated into practice to contribute to change in that sector. An analysis of digital health exercises that have not gone beyond research pilots and others that have changed health care practice, is presented. An analysis of health analytics projects revealed that successful projects integrated sophisticated data mining algorithms with business analyses and clinical assessments. An iterative, technological, business and clinical use-case approach is advanced to reveal that data analytics can open up new use-cases for health analytics that promise to lead to public health benefits.
