Postdoc Quest series talk by Dr.Deepyanti Taneja will be delivering a talk titled "Change is the only Constant" wherein she would talking about her research experiences involving working in different academic faculties (physics and electrical engineering), on different semiconductor systems (compound III-V semiconductors and two-dimensional materials), and in different countries (US, UK and India). Semiconductors, in addition to being the basic building blocks of all modern- day electronics, also serve as a great platform for unravelling the fundamental physics of the two types of charge carriers, electrons and holes. 

While Dr.Taneja's current research on two-dimensional materials is more application-oriented, her Ph.D. research was very fundamental in nature. By sharing her experiences involving several transitions, she also hopes to inspire us in embracing change as a necessary ingredient for growth while retaining our core values and passions.

Biography:

Biography - Dr. Deepyanti Taneja is a postdoctoral fellow in the ECE department, working with Prof. Deji Akinwande. Her current research interests lie in engineering and development of devices based on two-dimensional (2D) materials, growth of 2D materials, and the emerging new field of twistronics. She obtained her Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2016, where she studied low-temperature quantum transport in GaAs/AlGaAs heterostructures, and her Masters’ degree, also in Physics, from University College London in 2010. She was born and brought up in India, where she pursued her undergraduate studies in Physics at Hindu College, University of Delhi. She has a keen interest in the semiconductor industry and enjoys traveling!
