Presented by IEEE Foothill Section Computer Society and the IEEE Southern California Council (ISCC) - This will be a ZOOM virtual meeting

Cyber Security has become a buzzword that many people associate with protecting computers from hackers and nefarious activities that happen in the shadows. There have been many cyber attacks against large companies that have hit the headlines.  They have learned the hard way that not properly protecting their company’s data and information can lead to damage on many levels.  This is a global problem and needs to be addressed.  The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has published various guidance and standards requirements documents to help businesses and government entities at every level improve the protection of their digital assets.  This technical talk (“TechTalk”) will cover the top NIST approved documents – NIST 800.53 and NIST 800-171.  There will be a discussion on what is Control Unclassified Information (CUI).
