Abstract:
Who is IEEE Entrepreneurship? How Best to work together? Affinities and leveraging the best of each group. Consultants are Entrepreneurs. Consultants already have a product – themselves. They are expanding and selling their own expertise. Entrepreneurs are building a product/service. They are building, expanding, and selling their product/service... and look beyond being an one person consultant. How does IEEE Entrepreneurship help the Consultant expand?
Bio:
Joanne Wong is General Partner of REDDS Capital, Californian based VC firm investing in global early-stage & seed level IT start-ups. She has worked with IBM, HP, SAP, and Cisco in multiple technical, market development, and strategic investments positions. As a consultant, she has provided financial and technical advisory services to help start-ups to go to the next level. She is a mentor/advisor for multiple start-ups.
Joanne is passionate about the use of technology for making the world a better place. Joanne is Executive Director of a healthcare charity start-up, Cancer Computer, building supercomputers from donated hardware to provide free access to high performance computational resources that leading medical researchers require. For many years, she was a board member of the Government of Canada ICT sector council setting research and advising ICT policy for the country.
Joanne is an engineering graduate from McGill University. She is Vice Chair, Investor & Industry Activities of IEEE Entrepreneurship and Executive Officer of IEEE Technology & Engineering Management Society. www.linkedin.com/in/joannewongreddscapital
