Webinar: Solar Energy for Water and Wastewater Utilities
Insight into solar PV system applications for water and wastewater utilities through a 100 year old water facility improvement project
Central Arkansas Water’s Ozark Point Water Treatment Plant (WTP) is a historic site with a long history of serving central Arkansas with water. The plant building and water treatment facility were constructed as a WPA project completed in 1938, although the site served as a water handling facility in the later years of the 19th century. The Ozark Point WTP is near completion of a $28M upgrade to increase water treatment capacity and make much needed improvements to the historic plant. Brown Engineers is the consulting electrical engineering for the project and responsible for design of the new electrical service equipment, a 1.25MW diesel standby generator, and the additional of a renewable energy solar PV system to the facility. In this presentation, Brown Engineers will discuss the electrical and controls improvements made to the plant and use the project to provide insight into the application of solar PV system applications for water and wastewater utilities throughout Arkansas and the South-Central region of the US.
