Dear IEEE Members,

In accordance with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Member of the Supreme Council, Ruler of Sharjah and President of the University of Sharjah (may Allah protect him), the University of Sharjah strives to disseminate knowledge and science and contribute to the development of the nation. It aligns its endeavors in accordance with the various national strategic directions and components relative to the different sectors of the surrounding community, both governmental and private, through providing the scientific and practical assistance required by institutions, entities and sectors for the implementation of their important strategic projects. 

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research & Graduate Studies in cooperation with the Research Outreach Department at the University are pleased to announce the categories of research awards in the second forum for women in research entitled "Quwa: Empowering Women in Research and Innovation". The award categories address the most important issues, topics and priority research challenges in different fields. The announcement of the forum is circulated to all universities in the country, according to the following details:

Research Category         

• Health Sciences
• Pharmacy
• Medicine
• Dentistry 5 Prizes

Total: 50,000 AED

Per Prize: 10,000 AED

• Engineering
• Sciences
• Computing & Informatics
• Other disciplines with contribution to science and technology (i.e. Business, Communication, Humanities, Law...)

• Best Paper Award in ArabWIC2021 (Faculty/Student) 10 Prizes             

Total: 100,000 AED

Per Prize: 10,000 AED

Terms and Conditions

• The research work should not be published yet.
• The prize should be spent on the research project such as conference expenses, publication fees, project resources, software, etc.
• The research work should acknowledge the sponsor in its publication.
• The applicant can’t submit more than two research studies.
• The applicant should be female researcher in a university at UAE.
• The applicant can be a female student (Master/PhD), female faculty or female research assistant.
