International Women in Engineering Day is celebrated on 23rd June every year. It is the day to recognize the amazing work done by women engineers worldwide in various fields. Women Engineers have excellent problem solving skills and are able to take up challenges very easily.

IEEE Hyderabad Section Women in Engineering Affinity Group is celebrating this special day to accolade all the women engineers who have achieved great heights with perseverance. On this occasion, WIE AG is conducting a series of competitions and a special talk titled “Women in Engineering as Heroes- Leading from Front” is organized on 23rd June 2021 by Ms. Rama Devi Lanka, OSD ITE, Government of Telangana, to encourage and empower women.

The event is also supported by various student braches

VNRVJIET, Vardhaman, CVR, GRIET, MVSR, MJCET, GNITS, GPREC, Vaagdevi, SVC-Tirupathi and Vignan University 

Note: This event is not limited to only women and even men can participate.

On the eve of International Women in Engineering Day various  competitions will be conducted  (Details will be shared separately).The following are the list of events.

  2. Calligraphy
  3. Memes on Technology, Prizes will be given to all the 3 events  on 23rd June,2021.

Ms. Rama Devi Lanka

Biography:

A career spanning different domains from Civil engineering to Information Technology to e-Governance across Government, not for profit, private and start-up companies located in India and the USA garnering skills in IT consulting, IT strategy, product development, program management, designing and procurement of Infrastructure projects and e Governance programs.

Ms.Rama Devi played a role in the Digital India growth story by way of conceptualization and design of a number of e-Governance projects that are crucial in bringing in reforms and transformation in various domains such as Health, Visa-Immigration, Civil Aviation, Atomic Energy, Education and Urban Local Bodies.

She is always interested in learning new technologies - Formulated the strategy for the implementation of the Meghraj policy of cloud for Government of India. To enable cloud adoption by the Government Departments at States/Center developed a strategy, toolkit and procurement guidelines.

She has led consulting teams including teams from the partner consulting firms in various projects/programs that covered areas such as process re-engineering, solution designing, product evaluation, preparation of IT Roadmaps, formulation of RFPs, contract negotiations.
