About the Panel Discussion:
A very important question that lingers in the minds of all students pursuing engineering in circuit branches(ECE, EEE, EIE) is that after studying four years of core engineering they will ultimately have to end up in an IT job, thus not making much use of knowledge gained over the past four years. When it comes to placements – both on campus and off campus, it is definitely the IT companies that are the major recruiters. This leaves the student from circuit branches with a deep concern of not being able to use the knowledge gained in ECE to obtain a job. This panel discussion is envisaged to give an insight in the recruiting pattern of core electronics sector. The expectations that the core engineering companies have from the students in terms of fundamental knowledge will be highlighted. Finally the type of money that a fresher can make and the career graph of Electronic Engineering professional will be discussed. All third and final year students desirous of joining the core electronics industry are advised to attend.

About Speaker_1 :
Mr. Hanuma Sai Vemuri started his career with HAL,Hyderabad in 1979, where he was instrumental as a Design Manager, in bringing indigenous technology to Ground based Radars, in the form of advanced DSP processing and, in solving many of the issues which are unique to the Defence sites spread all over the country. He switched to Semiconductor chip design later, and successfully led teams as the Vice president of Qualcore Logic, to reverse engineer DSP chips, and also provide complex computational solutions to the multimedia industry. The design center of ams Semiconductors was started under his leadership, where he led a few groups of designers, to provide multiple solutions to automobile and consumer industries. He has shown a special passion for nurturing Industry-Institute interaction, and in the process, enabled graduate, post graduate and Ph.D students to carry out their projects in the industry. This helped the Teachers of the Institute to gain good practical insight into the advances in industry.

About Speaker_2 :
Dr. K Subbarangaiah, is one of the founders of VEDA IIT and has been its Director since its inception in the year 1997. He is a professor with 40 years of teaching and research experience at University which also includes more than17 years of VLSI Industry experience. He has been guiding and driving VLSI Physical Design groups and projects at multiple VLSI companies. He is also a director on different company boards. He authored about fifty research papers and guided M.Phils and Ph.Ds. He is associated with the tape-out of more
than 40 chips of different complexities at different technology nodes for several multinational clients. He is a founder member of VLSI International Forum. He is also a fellow of Acoustical Society of India, Life member of Instrument Society of India, member of IEEE and many other technical and professional organizations.

About Speaker_3 :
Dr. Madhav Pulipati heads ‘Photonics Valley Corporation’, a company instituted to facilitate the evolution of alternative computing paradigms such as Photonics and Quantum Computing. Currently in the pursuit of cultivating an ecosystem for accommodating the footprints of concerned technology partners, manufacturing partners and supply chain companies. Came up with a unique conceptual framework for promoting various alternative
approaches of Quantum Computing discourse with a stress on ‘Photonics’. The framework rallies around the ideas of an Academy for fomenting the capacity building, an incubation/simulation platform and a Valley for mobilising the concerned stakeholders. He is also helping in instituting investment funds for supporting technopreneurs. He
represented India in ISO and World Bank on technology domains. He has a doctorate in Post modernity. Had a stint at IIMA.

About Speaker_4 :
Mr. M. Sunil is the founder and CEO of BlueSemi R&D Pvt. Ltd. With a vision towards Quality of Life in Health and Clean Energy through the products by BlueSemi. He carries an unique background of 9 years in entreprenuership, technology, strategic planning and business expansions in multimillion dollar markets. He is an advisor and mentor at few seed stage startups and a post graduate in research from IIIT Hyderabad.
