Fall 2021 Mid-Semester Break MOVIE NIGHT=>The life of James Clerk Maxwell
The Life of James Clerk Maxwell
Recently in February & June 2021, as part of an innovative and fresh approach, i.e. a non-traditional meeting event: we presented video documentaries. This was very warmly received. So we decided to continue the good work.
We proudly present, in the life of James Clerk Maxwell
Summary: This documentary/movie will look at the life and contributions of one of the most celebrated scientists: James Clerk Maxwell FRSE FRS (13 June 1831 – 5 November 1879) was a Scottish mathematician and scientist responsible for the classical theory of electromagnetic radiation describing electricity, magnetism and light as different manifestations of the same phenomenon for the first time. Maxwell's equations for electromagnetism have been called the "second great unification in physics" where the first one had been realised by Isaac Newton.
AFTER the movie - we will have a brief discussion/chat session.
