Overview of FERC 2222 & Potential Impacts

FERC 2222 ruling was issued in September 2020 and is designed to promote competition in electric markets by removing the barriers preventing distributed energy resources (DERs) from competing on a level playing field in the organized capacity, energy, and ancillary services markets run by regional grid operators. An overview will be given on what is included in the ruling and potential future impacts for the utility industry.
