Base PCB Materials and their Influence in RF Designs
Interested in PCB materials and their influence in RF designs? Please come to join us in this Webex co-hosted by IEEE EMCS Chapter and Isola Group. Our presenter is Mr Alexander Ippich, Technical Director of Signal Integrity & Advanced Technology from Isola. He will cover the following topics in the presentation.
- important material characteristics
- Dk (anisotropie, over frequency, over temperature, over aging)
- Df (over frequency, temperature, aging)
- impedance (vs. time and vs. frequency)
- insertion loss
- measurement
- TDR
- VNA
- Dk/Df testing methods
- Monte Carlo analysis impedance and antenna resonance frequency (patch antenna)
- what's impacting insertion losses
- dielectric properties
- skin effect losses
- influence of surface finish
- new requirements from a PCB / stackup perspective
- reliability – HATS testing
- some examples
