Electronic Design Automation is the field of computer engineering which refers to software
tools and methodologies in electronic system design. In this talk Dr. Venkateswaran will give
a brief introduction to systems design, give a general overview of EDA, and go over the various
tools and flows used to design some of the most complex microprocessors in the world. He
will also provide illustrative examples that show challenges to chip design and introduce the
audience to key functional areas in EDA. This talk will be interactive, with several thoughtprovoking trivia questions along the way.
