Electric Power Systems and Electric Vehicles
IEEE VTS Philadelphia Chapter Meeting
The IEEE Vehicular Technology Society (VTS) Philadelphia Chapter and the Pennsylvania Society of Professional Engineers (PSPE) Philadelphia Chapter are holding a virtual meeting using Microsoft Teams. The topic is Electric Power Systems and Electric Vehicles. Mr. Joseph F. Maida, P.E., is our guest speaker.
The course will present an overview of basic design of electrical power systems, focusing on the installation of “residential” electric vehicle charging and power transferring stations. It will include a case study of a recent electrical contractor installed Tesla Charging Station and Powerwall combined with PV Cells on the roof of a residence near Boston, MA. Additional personal experience about a charging station that the Speaker built for his son’s Tesla in Ocean City will be presented. It will address the challenges that existing homeowners and utility companies will face with the rapid increase in electric vehicle purchases.
Attendees may apply for 1.0 PDH upon completion of lecture.
Certificates will be provided through the IEEE Certificates Program, accepted in all states.
PDHs are provided at a cost of $5.00 per certificate through the Philadelphia VTS Chapter.
Send payment to Brandon Swartley via Zelle at brandon.swartley@ieee.org.
