Motor Vehicle Technology Trends
The presentation will focus on explaining different vehicle technologies available today that are paving the way for autonomous vehicles. We will discuss the impact from the investigation standpoint and potential theories of liability. Case studies will be used to illustrate some concepts.
Biography:
Luis Flores holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and is a Crash Reconstructionist with ten years of experience in investigation, analysis and reconstruction services. He has experience in evidence preservation and documentation, surveying instrumentation, 2D/3D diagramming through CAD and laser scanning, and Event Data Recorder (EDR, “black box”) downloading. Luis also has experience with accidents involving recreational water vehicles (marine accident reconstruction); pedestrians, bicycles, and motorcycles; and mining equipment. His background and education in civil engineering makes him suitable for analysis of traffic signal timing and roadway design. As a Certified Fire and Explosion Investigator (CFEI) and a Certified Vehicle Fire Investigator (CVFI), he is also qualified in assessing fire and explosion damage.
