Abstract:

The term Big Data has become ubiquitous in recent years. The Big Data phenomena is transforming our society and industries in ways that we thought was not possible. With the advancement and maturation of the technology in this space, every enterprise is seeking to create value out of their data irrespective of where they are in the adoption curve of such technology. The business value that these enterprises are seeking are unique to them and are always unlocked through a specific use case and application. This session will explore the current challenges facing those enterprises with emphasis on the original 3Vs of the Big Data characteristics of: volume, velocity, and variety. The talk will describe a real-life manufacturing IoT use case and how that company after its successful initial deployment went on to expand their systems.
