Modbus is an open protocol used extensively for SCADA applications in different industries. Pymodbus is a full Modbus protocol implementation in Python. It is a useful tool to test Modbus communication between devices. This talk will provide a background for understanding the concepts related to Modbus protocol. It will focus on the implementation of Modbus client/server simulators in python using the pymodbus library.

Abstract

Speaker Bio
Alok Kumar is a Project Engineer with Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc., Pullman, WA, USA. He received his MS degree in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech, and his B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from National Institute of Technology, Trichy, India. He has over four years of experience in the field of automation, and his research interests include phasor measurements, power system optimization, and microgrids.
