Sijia Geng of Johns Hopkins University
Large-Disturbance Dynamic of Power Systems with Grid-Forming/Following Inverters
Biography:
Dr. Sijia Geng is an assistant professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. She received her Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering in 2022 from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, where she also received the M.S. degrees in mathematics and ECE, both in 2021. At Hopkins, Sijia lead the Power and Energy Network Systems Analysis (PENSA) Laboratory. Her research aims to facilitate the transition to renewable energy and ensure an intelligent, reliable, and sustainable future energy system. Her most recent research projects include dynamics, control and resiliency of inverter-based smart grids and optimization of electrified transportation systems. She is the recipient of a Best Paper Award for the 2022 MIT/Harvard Applied Energy Symposium, a Rising Stars in EECS at MIT in 2021, a Barbour Scholar at the University of Michigan, and a Towner Prize for Distinguished Academic Achievement in 2018.
