Debate Competition on the topic "Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development"
On May 17, 2024, the IEEE Student Branch of BBDITM University organized a debate competition to celebrate World Telecommunication Day, aligning with the theme "Digital Innovation for Sustainable Development." The event aimed to foster critical thinking and innovative solutions among students regarding the role of digital technologies in achieving sustainable development goals.
Debate Format:
The competition featured teams, each comprising two members. The debate followed a knock-out format, with teams presenting their arguments for and against various subtopics related to digital innovation and sustainable development. Each debate round lasted 20 minutes, with teams given 5 minutes for opening statements, 5 minutes for rebuttals, and 10 minutes for open floor arguments and conclusions.

The role of blockchain in promoting transparency and reducing corruption.
The potential of smart cities in achieving energy efficiency and reducing carbon footprints.
Challenges and solutions in bridging the digital divide in developing nations.
At the end of the debate competition winner of the debate competition has got the Certificate of Appriciation and Trophy as well.
