In recent years, the construction of China's high-speed rail is progressing rapidly. Currently, the total length of the high-speed rail network in China has reached to more than 10,000 kilometers, the longest one in the world. The high-speed rail has significantly promoted the economic and social development in China, and received attention from all over the world. This presentation will explain 1) The reasons that supported China to build the world longest high speed rail network in a relatively short period of time; 2) The technical features of China’s high-speed rail in comparison with Japanese and European ones; 3) The new high-speed rail technology under development in China; and 4) Future topics and directions.
