[Legacy Report] A two day workshop on Young Women Engineer as Nation Builder

IEEE WIE AG of G.Pulla Reddy Engineering College successfully organized a two day workshop on “Young Women Engineer as Nation Builder”, in association with IEEE Hyd section on 3rd and 4th Jan 2015 in Kalyana Mandapam, GPREC Campus. 352 participants have been registered for the workshop in which a few from other colleges especially from St Johns College of Engg and AVR SVR Engg college. The main objective of this workshop is to enhance the innate leadership and entrepreneurship skills, establish careers in niche areas among the girl students and also to facilitate the recruitment and retention of women in technical disciplines globally. The following are the list of seminars given by renowned persons during the sessions from various fields. All these sessions were very effective and personal abilities of the students has taken a leap and will work for the development of a nation.

  • Dr. N.V. Rao,Ex-chair of IEEE Hyd section,Chief Guest of this workshop delivered inaugural address on the strengths of women and their role in the society as well as for the development of a nation.
  •  Dr. Dakshina Murthy, President, International School of Engineering delivered a talk on Establishing Careers in Niche Areas.
  • Ms. Sujatha Dedi, Full Time Worker, Vivekananda Kendra, Kanyakumari delivered a talk on Young Women Engineer as a Nation Builder during the session. She focused on how women play a role in Bhavath Geeta. She explained the importance of the women participation in the corporate society. She inspired students by saying that empowerment for women is not required as they were already strong and powerful to compete with men in this modern world
  • Sri. L. Adhitya, Enterprenuer, Conduira Education and Training Services Pvt. Ltd, spoke on Resume writing and Soft Skills and also shared interview tips. This session helped the students in preparing oneself how to behave in interviews, how to speak, answer to them there and how to be successful.
  •  Sri. Madhav Negi,  Associate Director, Computer Science Corporation  and  Sri Sudharshan Chakrapani,Vice President, Head of the Brand and Customer Experience management,delivered a lecture on Geeta, B.Tech, Entreprenuer.The session is completely an interactive session in which the students understood what really an enterprenuer is and what are essential factors required by an  enterprenuer to start up a business. The activity related to enterprenuership really improved the self confidence of the students to involve and bought up with ideas to be an enterprenuer.
  • Sri. Raju Madhavan, Softskills facilitator, specializing in Experiential Learning & Psychometric tools, delivered a talk on Leadership and Personal Effectiveness. The session was mainly focussed on vision statement, situational leadership and effectiveness. Vision statement is how our thinking changes our life and attitude. One should have strong determination to achieve something in life. Our habits are the one which surely change our thinking mentality. Situational leadership is that at any time one should act as a leader and lead the life. Effectiveness is when we are doing a work we should give our full pledge effort and we should not think it works or not. First we should do our job without expecting any result.

IEEE WIE AG of our college is working to motivate and encourage young women engineers and also envisions a vibrant community of IEEE women and men collectively using their diverse talents to innovate for the benefit of humanity wish to continue the same in coming years.
