The IEEE Circuits and Systems Society conducted an event “TwisTED” on 25th August, 2015. The event was based on the famous TED talks. The initiative was taken to give the opportunity to all the enthusiastic MJCET’ians to be a part of this event which is purely based on the concept of TED talks in the form of extempore.
The event comprised of two rounds:
Round 1- Extempore
Round 2 – Debate
The event commenced with the JAM session on technical topics wherein the students were given different topics and presented their views pertaining to the technical topics allotted to them. The topics given were generalised ones which are discussed in present modern era. The 1st round concluded with the shortlisting of the best candidates among all.
The second round commenced with a high voltage debate session, leading to the enhancement of one’s spontaneity and persuasive skills. The topic debated upon was “What happens when our computers get smarter than us?” which was unanimously selected by the participants shortlisted. Different ideas where put on the table by the students who were in favour and against the topic prescribed.
The event concluded with evaluating the candidates and awarding the best among all by the IEEE CASS MJCET EXECOM and also a thanksgiving note from the Vice Chair, IEEE CASS MJCET for the enthusiastic participation of the students.
