[Legacy Report] Windows 10 Application Development by IEEE WIE AG NUCES

IEEE Women in Engineering NUCES Affinity arranged a workshop by Zohaib Ahmed Butt who is a Microsoft Student Partner. Prior to this, Zohaib has also worked as an intern at Microsoft innovation center, Plan 9 and Square 63. Around 55 participants attended the workshop. It was a four-day project oriented Workshop. The event introduced the participants to windows 10 app development by covering a basic project. The topics which were speared over the four days are:
1. Introduction to Windows 10 2. Introduction to XAML (Data Class). 3. Introduction to C# 4. Introduction to data binding
On the first day Zohaib familiarized the participants with the latest version of windows and introduced XAML (Data Class). The second day started with the introduction of a new language, C#. The participants were asked to develop a simple calculator app alongside the speaker. On the third day the attendees were taught how to fill the event handlers and data binding was introduced. On the fourth day, the workshop ended, after the attendees were acquainted with the basics of app development the Calculator app was finalized.
The Workshop covered basic front-end design of Windows 10 applications in XAML (Extensible Application Markup Language), Event Handling and basic back-end programming. At the end of this workshop, the attendees had a basic idea on how the applications are developed. Some images from the event are given below:
