[Legacy Report] A TECHNICAL TALK ON APPLICATION OF DYNAMIC RATINGS IN REAL-TIME OPERATION OF GRID

The  event is held on 23^rd November, 2015. It is organized by K.S.R. Rajeswara Rao . It is a technical talk by Dr. NDR SARMA . He shared his valuable experiences with the students specific to grid operations in Real-time.

The main motive behind the guest lecture is to discuss on applicability of dynamic ratings in the grid operation. Also discussed about some case study implementations in ERCOT, Texas, USA. Guest lecture also provided some information on utilization of Energy Management Software.

The technical  talk also focused on Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition(SCADA).Since the attendees were M.Tech students the speaker gave some real-time issues and their resolution with the Energy Management Software(EMS) and SCADA.

Speaker also mentioned about the scope of research work in the area of Energy Management and grid operation in real-time. Talk provided a platform for knowledge sharing on real-time operation of grid.

The event began at 12:00 Hrs with lunch being served to the participants and our honorable guest. After the lunch the lecture began at 13:00 Hrs with a total of 68 participants in the hall.

The event began with a welcome speech by Student Branch Executive Member ,Manasa. Dr. NDR Sharma  was felicitated by Student Counsellor, Dr. K. Narasimha Rao with a momento and a shawl. The event ended at 17:00 Hrs . The participants were issued certificates soon after the event. The event ended with a good note by K.S.R. Rajeswara Rao . The event also noticed the presence of IEEE Vizag Bay Sub Section Chair, Dr. S. Lakshminarayana  present in the event along with the Secretary ,T.S.N. Murty .
